Inspiration Is The First Principle
There is a chair I think about often. Beautifully made, inviting. The moment you see it, you want to sit. No instruction needed. The design has already spoken.
This is inspiration. Not decoration. Not motivation dressed up as aesthetics. The actual mechanism by which change happens.
As designers, we have no authoritative force. We cannot command our clients to believe differently. We cannot force collaborators to care. A CEO cannot make employees change through mandate alone.
What we have instead is this: the power to make people want to change toward a better future they didn't know was possible. To show them a world more exciting than the one they know. And inspire them to work together on the journey.
Inspiration is how we change the world.
